This Saturday evening, we'll meet at the George Washington University Inn, colonial room, for a meet and greet that will launch 5 wonderful days together. What a great group of colleagues--Marlene and I are so fortunate to have you on this field trip. In the spirit of adventures for folks our age, we want to learn together while also having fun. Please let us know how we can make your trip more productive and enjoyable for you.
On Sunday morning, I want to frame the purpose, itinerary, and style of our trip. We have been hard at work creating a meaningful trip, and hope you like it. As we see it, the trip links the noble ideas of the country to an exploration of the many venues along US Highway 50 in Washington, DC. To make the exploration work, I am bring a folder for each of you that has itinerary, maps of DC and our route, brochures from many of the venues, and bios/contact information so we can stay in touch while in Washington.
We're going to use this blog site to capture and share our thoughts and experiences during the trip. The hotel has a small business center where you can use a computer, or you may be bring a cellphone, pad, or laptop that will help you with the short writing pieces/photos you may create.
